We are currently seeking a talented, well rounded architect/designer in our New York City office with more than five years of relevant experience with strengths in project conceptualization and design including the ability to lead a design, planning, or research effort in collaboration with others. Candidate should be comfortable in a presentation situation and able to represent the firm to clients and the public.

Direct Supply Aptura has a an exciting and unique opportunity for an Architect experienced in senior care projects who also has a passion and talent for client interaction, business development and marketing. The Architect will be responsible for assisting with fulfillment of design-build contracts. Core responsibilities include marketing of the Aptura Design-Build process, project programming, schematic design, design development, direction of external architectural partners, project management, code search, client relationships and project schedules. This individual will work in close coordination with team members in the Design-Build group within Aptura. The successful candidate will also interact with clients, suppliers and contractors for assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with marketing and sales efforts to Direct Supply customers.
- Create scope of work, fee schedules and timetables for proposals.
- Project programming for contracted projects.
- Pre-design, data collection, site visits, master planning and site planning.
- Schematic design.
- Perform code and regulation reviews.
- Design development.
- Develop requests for proposals for external architectural partners.
- Act as the architectural advisor for clients during the Design-Build process.
- Assist in construction material review and specification.
- Coordinate consultant drawings from multiple sources to verify consistency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Licensed and/or Registered Architect required; NCARB certification preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in Senior Living, all levels of care, at a national level is most desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of CAD and other relevant systems for design document creation.
- Strong drawing skills.
- Solid understanding of construction project scheduling and flow.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- High energy and demonstrated desire to succeed.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent computer skills required.
